VICAM MARKETING MATERIALS HONORED IN GLOBAL CORPORATE IDENTITY COMPETITION

Stationery system to appear in international design annual

WATERTOWN, MA (August 23, 2002) –– VICAM, a world leader in agricultural biotechnology and bioseparations, was recently honored for the design excellence of their stationery system. VICAM’s letterhead, envelopes, and business card will be showcased in the 320-page, full-color design annual, Global Corporate Identity. Global Corporate Identity, which receives worldwide distribution, depicts the best new corporate identity work produced both at home and abroad.

The Contest
Building on the history of sister publication American Corporate Identity, Global Corporate Identity is the brainchild of Clio-winning advertising guru David E. Carter. Carter has published American Corporate Identity for eighteen years; Global Corporate Identity is set to become an international design reference in the same way American Corporate Identity has become one of the most respected American design annuals.

The Judging
Over 4000 design firms and companies submitted entries to Global Corporate Identity in categories such as “Trademark/Logo Design,” “Complete Corporate ID Programs,” and “Signage/Environmental Graphics,” and fewer than 20% of the entries were selected for publication. Entries were chosen based on the individual excellence of the work, with Carter as the competition’s primary judge.

Having produced close to 100 books on logo and identity design, David Carter has produced more books on logo design and corporate identity than anyone else in the world. He has conducted seminars on corporate identity around the world in locations as diverse as Helsinki and Sao Paulo, and has produced corporate identities for over 300 international firms. Recently, he has been active as a designer in Indonesia and Thailand. Carter was awarded a Clio, sometimes referred to as “the Oscar of advertising,” while running his own advertising agency in 1980.
