AflaTest WB SR Mycotoxin Testing System

Aflatoxins, potent liver toxins from naturally occurring molds, are classified as a Group 1 human carcinogen. Governments throughout the world have imposed strict legal limits on aflatoxin levels in food. The European Union’s aflatoxin regulations for groundnuts, tree nuts, dried fruit, spices, and cereals include limits as low as 4 ppb total aflatoxins and 2 ppb for aflatoxin B1. Some EU member states have also separately established their own maximum limits on aflatoxins.

VICAM’s new AflaTest®WB SR uses immunoaffinity chromatography to selectively isolate aflatoxins B₁, B₂, G₁, G₂, and M₁ for HPLC analysis. The SR test kit’s fast-flow widebore columns are specially designed to maximize aflatoxin G₂ recovery and accelerate sample throughput.

AflaTestWB SR is the latest additon to VICAM’s growing line of wide-bore column HPLC-only test kits. VICAM’s continued expansion of this fast-flow WB product line demonstrates our ongoing commitment to improving mycotoxin testing and responding to our customers’ needs.

Aflatest WB SR is to Use:

Extract Sample: Grind and weigh sample; Add salt and methanol/water mixture; Filter
Dilute and Filter: Dilute extract; Filter
Absorb and Elute: Pass filtrate over AflaTest WB SR affinity column; Wash column; Elute aflatoxins with methanol and collect in cuvette
Measure: Dilute and inject eluate into HPLC; Determine aflatoxin concentration
