AflaTest Mycotxin Testing System

Aflatoxin, a toxin from a naturally occurring mold, is a Group 1 carcinogen proven to cause cancer in humans. Throughout the world, there are significant regulations regarding the presence of aflatoxins in food. The European Union possesses regulations for aflatoxins in groundnuts, nuts, dried fruit, spices, and cereals with limits as low as 4 ppb total aflatoxins and 2 ppb for aflatoxin B₁. Additionally, EU member states have established their own maximum levels for aflatoxins which are separate from the EU regulations.

Using monoclonal antibody-based affinity chromatography, AflaTest® WB is a new HPLC-only test for the detection of aflatoxins using wide bore immunoaffinity columns.With a total volume of 3mL, compared to the total of 1mL in VICAM’s standard columns, AflaTest WB allows for a faster flow rate preferred by many laboratories and is the ideal cleanup step for any HPLC.
