Overview

  • The procedure is simple. Magnetic beads, coated with antibodies that bind to Salmonella species are used to isolate Salmonella and Salmonella enteritidis from samples.

Simple Use

  • Prepare sample
  • Add antibody coated Salmonella Screen magnetic beads to prepared sample in vials and rotate vials
  • Isolate magnetic beads with Salmonella from sample by drawing magnetic beads to a magnet
  • Wash magnetic beads with buffer
    Spread beads on plates and incubate for 16-22 hours
    • If no positive colonies (black) are detected, the result is negative and the test is done
    • If positive colonies appear, perform Salmonella latex agglutination test to verify Salmonella
